Don’t Change Who You Are, Change What You Do

14 days under my belt!  7 more to go!

Never underestimate the power of marking those days off on the calendar! A 21 day program is the PERFECT thing for me in this crazy season. Fitness is all about finding what works for you and OWNING it!

I knew that tackling this nutrition plan would be a difficult thing. Depleting carbs in the middle of Halloween was NOT my brightest idea, but at the same time, the mental challenge reminds me of so many things!

Some of my meals from a day on this program.

A big part of my own personal transformation has been coming to the realization that I craved food more than I craved God.

I shared these ugly truths with my fit family this week:
▪️I planned my days and nights around food.
▪️I stayed up late to eat after everyone had gone to bed.
▪️I took the boys to get treats so I could treat myself.
▪️I rewarded myself with food.
▪️I got cranky if I didn’t have access to the foods I was craving.
▪️I had made an utter and complete idol out of something God created to sustain me. Not control me.

My story didn’t end there… it STARTED with a desperate cry for God to unsettle me in the HARDEST ways, and He did.
Then I made a plan. Found a workout program I could do from home while my babes slept. 👶🏼

Committed to following the nutrition plan that came with it. 🥗🥚🥑🍓
Found a community 👯‍♀️and just fell to my knees a LOT with each temptation.

Yall, I’m so HUMAN! I still binge eat cake 🎂 and crave Diet Cokes, but I am a NEW woman! Fitness didn’t save me. Coaching didn’t save me. GOD saved me through the power that is alive and at work in me. ✝️

I developed a love/hate relationship with 1 Corinthians 6:12 for a while, “Everything is permissible for me – but not everything is beneficial…I will not be mastered by anything,”

I have been a complete SLAVE to food, but I’m not anymore. And I can tell you that BOLDLY all while pointing you to my Savior and Sustainer who keeps me looking forward and not behind at all the times I failed.

Sweet sister💓, can I encourage you today? That brownie or fried chicken might taste really good, but does it OWN you? If so, it’s not worth it. The peace that comes with giving it to God and allowing HIM to control your choices is far sweeter than any bite you put in your mouth!

Healthy will ALWAYS be a battle⚔️ for me. But it is a battle that gets easier to win with each passing day. Don’t count yourself out! Stand and FIGHT for that beautiful body and mind of yours!🖤🖤

 

Write Your Own Story

Every story has a beginning.  My best advice is to not try to change who you are and the struggles that come along with you, but instead to change what you do!

If you’ve made progress in your health before, you CAN again. You already know what to do. It’s just a matter of making those choices over and over again and making more GOOD choices that move you forward than the bad ones.
