Spring Fitness BootCamp

I cannot get enough of Easter!  I get so excited, pumped, blown away by Christ’s love for us!!!

But it’s also a very tough time for me as far as my fitness. I started a brand new workout program last week with a group of challengers, and I have to admit.  Nutrition wise, I didn’t do so great my first week.  Like, kind of bombed it.

I didn’t gain weight, but my stomach is bloated from all the salt, candy, etc. that I allowed myself.  And even though I’m not happy about it, I’m not giving up.  I’m calling a do over.

I absolutely loved the 22 minute workouts.  They were intense enough for me to work up a good sweat…which I think is necessary in a workout.  And they were FAST!  There was no skimping just because they were shorter.  The cardio was great!! I didn’t have to learn a lot of new moves.  They were pretty familiar.

And I didn’t have to go buy  a lot of new workout equipment. All I needed was a set of weights, a resistance band and a gym mat.  All of which I already had!

And I was sore again!! I love that feeling. Challenging my body in new ways that show me I can always improve and get stronger.

Just because I’ve been working out at home for 18 months, doesn’t mean I plateau. There is always a new challenge, a new area to work, and I can ALWAYS improve on my nutrition!!! No doubt.

And Easter has hit me hard!  I have practiced more moderation and control than in the past, but I still allowed myself a couple Cadbury Eggs (my FAVORITE), some salty ham and deviled eggs. Even a piece of chocolate cake!

And it’s ok.  I didn’t do any permanent damage and I’m prepped and ready for this week now…even if it did take me an extra day.

Life is not about restricting myself.  It’s about balance.  And treating my body the way I KNOW it should be treated.

And I can promise you that this lifestyle and improved my quality of life by leaps and bounds!!! No more PMDD.  I have more energy and strength to keep up with my kids.

And with warmer weather that is so important!  We love to be outside!
To camp, to swim, to play, to watch the boys play baseball, to ride our bikes!
We LIVE outside and never stop.

And I can remember all to clearly two Springs ago not wanting to put on shorts, let alone that bathing suit that was absolutely going to be a nightmare! Not because I was extremely overweight, but because I was extremely unhealthy and unhappy with my body.

But not this Spring!  I have a plan.  I have a workout program, and I have a mission to remain healthy and strong for my family and for ME!!!
