Month 2 of Hammer and Chisel…Seeing Progress!

Month 2 of Hammer and Chisel…Seeing Progress!

Hammer and Chisel, Week 5 Meal Plan

Whew!  It seemed like that first month of this program was nothing but dead space!  I enjoy most of the workouts, especially the weights, but my body just wasn’t seeing any change happen!

It’s so important when you’re trying something new to be able to have an end goal in mind. And not to be swayed by the day to day struggles.  This past month has been a remind for me in that lesson.

I started off planning to do the Whole 30, but that really just wasn’t realistic for me.  And I have found as I have stuck to it, that my body just doesn’t agree!

So, while I am continuing my “Paleo” type meal plans, I am giving myself grace and adding in some old foods that I know do not affect my body negatively.

I really learned the most when I completed the Ultimate Reset last fall.  My results to that were AMAZING and I was able to determine that legumes, dairy and many types of nuts really just do not agree with my body. So I’m sticking to my plan, adding back in some Ezekiel Toast and oats for grains, and I already feel better on Day 2 of this plan!

I also cut out my afternoon snack, because I found I was just eating it to have something to do, and most often I wasn’t even hungry for it.

That is one thing I did learn from It Starts With Food, is that mindless eating is something I can combat with one simple question:  When I get munchy, I ask myself, “Am I hungry enough right now to eat steamed fish an veggies?” If the answer is yes, then I need to eat.

If the answer is no, then I grab a cup of green tea or lemon water.

The Buffalo Chicken was a HUGE hit for us last week, so we had that again last night.  It is seriously SO simple, and if my family will eat it with Sweet Potatoes and green beans, then it’s a win!

Take Ownership of Your Health

I pulled out my copy of Made To Crave recently. I really felt God calling me to go back to the start of my fitness journey and remember that my strength to begin came from HIM!

And as I’m reading it, I am reminded of the DESIRE I had to TRULY makes changes in my health.

I was SO tired of yo-yo dieting. Starting and stopping. SAYING that I was reliant on God to help me change but really only relying on FOOD to provide temporary peace and happiness.

And it is humbling and exciting to read my thoughts almost 3 years ago….yes, I said EXCITING!!

Why???

Because I talk to women everyday who say they are “desperate” to make changes and finally get healthy and stay healthy.

Yet so many fail to take action or actually stick with the healthy changes they commit to making.

And it breaks my heart for them. But my words here on these pages remind me that I was that same woman!

  • Always committing but never taking action.
  • Always praying for an answer to my inability to commit but refusing to make the changes I KNEW had to happen.
  • Always seeking but never willing to accept God’s help.

I am encouraged because God finally got my attention. And i know that if I can change with God’s help, then other women can too.

There is no great secret to my challenge groups.

We simply move our bodies, change our eating, incorporate healthy alternatives to the meals we’re already eating.  But I will say that the accountability I found in my first challenge group was life giving.

And my goal is to provide the spiritual, mental and physical support God leads me to share with other women starting out just like me.

Rock Your Confidence Fitness Challenge

Inviting God into this journey was a game-changer for me.  And my goal is to encourage other women to do the same.  Within my private challenge groups and through my social media page.

So, if this speaks to you, sounds like your story, or resonates in any way. I invite you to try again. Pray for help and perseverance.

I don’t care if you choose to join my challenge group, someone else’s or do it a completely different way, just DECIDE. COMMIT. AND SUCCEED!

“Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us at the proper time.”
