Do I Run After Jesus?

Do I Run After Jesus?

have been so consumed with Peter lately. You know, Jesus’s disciple who promise he loved Him and would never deny him. Then he did…not just once, but Three times!
.
.
But it’s not that part of Peters story I’ve been dwelling on. It’s the part when he sees Jesus standing on the shore after the resurrection.
.
“As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, ‘It is the Lord,’ he wrapped his outer garment around him ( for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water.” John 21:7
.
Peter, who loved Jesus so much, doesn’t think about the denials, the mistakes, the shame that could so easily hold him back from running after Jesus. No. He throws his clothes on, jumps into the water and wades 100 yards just to be next to Him. He couldn’t wait the extra time it would take to stay in the boat to get to shore.
.
.
And it just had me asking myself, Am I a woman who runs to Jesus first?
When my kids push the limits and try my last nerve, do I run to Him or just lose it and try to handle it my own way?
When I encounter negativity or discouragement, do i run to Jesus for words and direction or just respond without thought to the impact my words could have ?
When I’m filled with doubt about my purpose or the direction I’m going in my business, do I run to Jesus or just give up and chart my own way?
.
.
I want to be Peter. A woman who doesn’t care how crazy I look running after Jesus. I just want to run!
