Consider it all Joy!

Consider it all Joy!

Consider it all joy dear mama! This struggle you’re in for your body and your mind!

“Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1: 2-4

I know! Not what you were hoping for?
Maybe, a “Here’s the EASY button! Just follow these simple steps..”

And as much as I wish I could give that to you, I wish MORE for your faith to increase and for your family to see that change in you!

And God’s promises don’t include “easy”. No matter how much we search for it.

Changing your habits is HARD.
Getting your family onboard is FRUSTRATING.
Showing up for yourself after a week of defeat feels IMPOSSIBLE.

But check these next verses:

“But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind.  That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord,  being double-minded and unstable in all his ways.” James 1:6-8

Simply put, we can’t ask and not EXPECT God to help us change! We cannot say we trust in Him for salvation for all of eternity, but we don’t believe that He can change what goes from our fork to our mouth.

So this week, I want to give you a prayer to pray as you work to change your health:

“Lord, I know this is outside of my control. I have tried and tried again to lose weight, eat clean, establish healthier habits, but I fail by my own power every time! I need YOUR strength to do this. I turn this over to you! Strengthen me when my willpower is weak. Remind me of WHY my choices matter to you. Make this body a VESSEL for living out the callings you have placed on my life. I am ready to give YOU all the glory for the changes that will happen in my body! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

And your first TIP as we head into a brand new week.

PREP for SUCCESS:

1. Take a laundry basket and walk around your home picking up clutter. Have your kids put away what is theirs and you do what they cannot. A cleanish home will help your focus and mindset.

2. Grocery shop & prep some healthier snacks. Apples and peanut butter. Greek yogurt and berries. Avocado & sea salt. Turkey & cheese. Pick some that appeal to you and portion them out for on the go.

3. Lay out your workout clothes for tomorrow with your Bible on TOP! Seeing them will remind you that you’ve got GOALS & you’re not giving up on yourself & that God is in control! Work INTO your soul before you Work OUT!
