ChaLEAN Extreme…Challenging MYSELF!

I am sure many of you know about my love for The 21 Day Fix, and trainer, Autumn Calabrese!  That program ROCKS!!!! I have been doing it since May, and I am still not bored with it.  However, I do feel like it’s time to challenge my body in different ways.  It’s definitely good to mix it up and keep my body guessing, in order to keep my metabolism going and increase strength.  So, after a lot of research and seeking advice from other coaches, I have decided to do Chalene Johnson’s ChaLEAN Extreme.  

This program really focuses on building muscle.  I have built my muscle with the fix, but Chalene’s approach in this program is heavy weights and very slow reps.  This will force me to use muscle to lift the weights instead of relying on momentum.  I’m kind of nervous and excited all at once!  I will still incorporate some of the 21 Day Fix workouts on my rest days…just because I love them so, but I cannot wait to see how my body changes with this workout. 





While I am definitely motivated by improving my physical appearance, I am also driven by the CHALLENGE!  Being a challenger at first and then becoming a Beachbody coach has pushed me in ways I never imagined!  There have definitely been times I have failed – whether it was failing to stick to my meal plan; sometimes I gained weight back; sometimes I just didn’t give it 100% in my workouts.  But, since May, I have consistently tried to make good choices…every day.  I believe it’s those little things that I do that will help me improve:

  • choosing my Shakeology instead of a piece of cake
  • getting up early to work out even though I would rather stay in bed
  • packing my snacks, so I will have healthy options if I get hungry
  • planning and prepping my meals each week
So!  I am going to begin Monday, and I will keep you updated on my progress.
