30 Days of Thanks…Who’s In?



Is anyone else in total shock that next week is NOVEMBER?? October has been a blink, and I know that November will as well.  We have had so many wonderful things going on this month! Trips to the pumpkin patch, my birthday, soccer, Halloween parties, church chili cookoffs, and more!!!

 And November and December are already filling up!!! I love this season of the year, especially with the boys.  They make everything exciting and fun!  But it is also a time of year that can wreak havoc on the progress that Matt and I are making.  And I include Matt, because he has really been committed to working out more consistently and eating cleaner!  And it is beginning to really show!  He would never allow me to share his pictures, but trust me.  That man is shaping up!!!!

And because we have both been doing so well, and because the boys are watching everything we do, it is so important to keep that momentum going.  So!  I have been really committed to my Body Beast workouts.  Making sure that I not only show up and press Play, but that I’m really giving all I have in my workouts and in my nutrition.  I know that working out is not the only thing that matters.  Probably more importantly, my nutrition has to be on track 80% of the time!  And honestly, no one know what I eat but me…I could totally slack on this part, but I’m not gonna allow myself!!!


Body Beast is so much better than I expected! I have moved into the second phase now, the Bulk phase, and it is such a challenge! Weights are my thing.  I love them.  And before I started working out at home, I was so scared of them!  But Chalene Extreme really taught me how to lift properly and see results.  So Body Beast is really fun for me.  And I am seeing great results!!! I’m down 4 lbs as of this morning and I’m not sure how many inches.  But I feel great!!! My body responds really well to weights. 

And my nutrition has been spot on!! It took me a couple of weeks to determine what works best with this program, but I’ve got it now and I’m rocking it!!! Shakeology is my breakfast.  It gives me energy and TOTALLY helps curb my sweet cravings…something I will definitely take advantage of at the holidays.  I’ve actually been out of it, and I have missed it a lot!!!

I’m getting in slightly more protein because of my workouts and keep my carbs as close to my workouts as possible.  I’m also having some protein right before I go to bed.  Studies show that protein before bed helps aid in weight loss , and it does a great job of keeping me full and not snacky…a big problem for me.  I have my weekly cheat meal, and I keep going! 



I still have a few pounds I would love to lose, but I’m not so much concerned with that as much as I am just remaining consistent….

I’m sticking with my meal plans. 
I’m really focusing on my workouts and giving them all I’ve got. 
And I’m seeing progress. 
This is where it used to get hairy. 
I would get lazy or comfortable with where I was and slip back into old habits. 
Especially with the holidays. 
I would dig into Halloween candy and allow myself more treats. 
And slowly, I would undo all my progress. 
It was a yo-yo effect. 
But not this year. Not me.  I am changed.  I understand the value of sticking with it. Not primarily for weight loss, but for peace.  You see, food used to be my reward.  What I turned to when I was worried, stressed and even when I had done something really well!  But God has taught me that while food is not bad, it becomes so when I seek peace and comfort there instead of through Him.  
And as we head into the holidays, I know that I can easily get side tracked.  Off track. Derailed…whatever you want to call it!
And I’m committed to NOT allowing that to happen this year!  Thankfully Halloween is not a huge temptation for me, but I know it is for many.  It’s Thanksgiving meals and all those Christmas goodies that get me. But I’m armed and ready.  I’ve got some great clean recipes.  I’ve got my meal plans.  I spend time prepping for my weeks and planning, and I’ve most definitely got prayer!!
And I want to help others be able to make changes and stick with them alongside me!!! Support and accountability are what keep me going, and I know it works!!!
So, I am currently working on a special group that will focus on 30 Days of Thanks.  Not only do I want to teach people how to live a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle but I want to invite you to truly be grateful for the blessings in our lives that we have right now! So often we get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of life and we forget that everything that matters most is already right in front of us.  We always think we need, more or we need to do more and have more! In reality, you don’t need more.  You have what you need right here! 
 I am going to take the next 30 days and start with an optional 3 Day Cleanse, then 30 days of prayer, thanksgiving and putting YOU first for 30 minutes a day, I am going to teach you clean eating, meal planning, give you healthy recipes and tips to stay on track this November holiday season!  I am going to walk you through an entire month of tips and tricks.



Especially with traveling, holiday parties, Halloween, dinners out and friends visiting it is VERY VERY easy to get off track! But I have got you!!  80-20 rule is where it is all at! I want to share how we can get through the month of November, create healthy habits and still indulge a little at the holidays!


So, how will the group work? 30 Days of Thanks beings on November 9th. 

  1. Everyone in the group is committed to a fitness program.
  2. I am starting the 3 Day refresh on the 9th and you are welcome to join me!!! I’m gonna rid my body of all the junk and help me stay on track!
  3. We are all going to replace one meal a day with Shakeology because…it’s the healthiest and fastest option …which really works for this busy momma!
  4. We will commit to checking into the group 1x each day and stay accountable.
  5. I will share tips for clean eating holiday recipes, traveling, eating out, appetizers and more!
  6. I will help you meal plan and prep and arm yourself against temptations.
  7. We will keep a daily journal of thanksgiving with scripture.
  8. And we will still enjoy Thanksgiving!!! 
I know from experience that you can still enjoy Thanksgiving and all the goodies.  But committing to daily exercise, portion control and just not losing ALL control is what matters!
