My Favorite Spices for Adding TONS of Flavor to Our Food!

My Favorite Spices for Adding TONS of Flavor to Our Food!

One of the biggest things challengers tell me is that they don’t like boring food.  And my response is ME TOO!

I LOVE flavor.  I will not eat boring food, and my family is the same way.  We cook most of our food, and i keep it super simple.

But I keep a handful of my favorite spices and sauces to keep things interesting, and I wanted to share them with you!

Sea Salt.  I know it seems basic, but this Pink Himalayan Sea Salt is the bomb!  It packs so much flavor, and only a very little is required.  I use it on everything.  Including my Shakeology.  I love a Salted Caramel Chocolate Shakeology!

If we could get a Trader Joes close by, I would die a happy woman.  They have the BEST items at the cheapest prices.  This 21 Seasoning Salute is simple but packs a ton of flavor.  I sprinkle this on veggies before I roast or steam them. I put in my quinoa and brown rice when I cook it.  I put it in meatloaf and over meats as well. Very all-purpose.

I told Matt that when I run out of this Chili Lime Seasoning Blend, we are getting in the car and driving the 2.5 hours to Nashville to restock.  It is my absolute FAVORITE right now!  It is perfect for so many foods and packs a PUNCH of flavor.  I put it on grilled meats before I grill them. I sprinkle it over sweet potato fries and on cooked veggies.  I have even seen it sprinkled over fruit, but I haven’t gotten that adventurous yet.
It is seriously so flavorful!  You need to try it if you live near a Trader Joe’s.

This Rosemary Garlic blend is one I got at Sam’s Club.  I use it a lot on roasted meats and potatoes. I also have used it in bread.  It’s perfect if you make your own foccacia bread.  It packs a hefty dose of flavor, so play with it. I also use it in my rice from time to time.  Don’t be afraid to get creative!

I love some good ole hot sauce, but this SRiracha is different.  The heat is different and not as acidic tasting.  I use this on tacos, meats, sweet potato fries, salads.  Really anything I need a good kick of flavor.

Chili and Cumin powder. Oh my goodness, what do I NOT use these in!??? We have tacos of some kind at least once a week.  Chicken tacos, shrimp tacos, steak tacos. I add in about a tsp of each to the meat and veggies as I cook them.
I use these for my Turkey Chili, , in my Chicken Taco Soup and many other dishes.
One of my favorites and the easiest meals to make is to take your chicken breasts, a jar of salsa, sliced onion and bell pepper, a tsp of chili powder and a tsp of cumin.  Add it all to a crock pot and cook on low for 6 hours. It makes the most incredible meat for tacos and fajitas!  And you don’t have to touch it all day!  Just let it cook!
So you see?  Keeping clean eats interesting is not complicated.  Just be adventurous.  Try new things and go for FLAVOR over Fat.
